How much will shipping a puppy cost?
The average cost to ship a puppy anywhere in the US is approximately $250.00 if you are going to be shipping by airplane. We also offer ground transport to many locations.
Ground Transport? What is that all about?
We have been extremely fortunate to meet with a credible ground transport company who is willing to transport puppies across the country for minimal cost. PLease contact us if you are interested in shipping your puppy with this service.
How soon can my puppy be flown to me?
Puppies must be at least 8 weeks old to be able to be flown. This is a regulation set by the USDA to ensure that the puppies will be mature enough to be able to handle the flight.
What is included in the $250.00?
This cost will include the shipping price for the airline, a crate to transport your new puppy and also a health certificate which is required by all airlines.
Will my puppy be safe?
We have been shipping puppies for years and have been extremely pleased with the service and professionalism of the airlines that we use.
We use the major airlines such as Delta, American Airlines, Northwest Airlines and Continental Airlines. The airlines have regulations that we must follow in order to keep our puppy safe.
Will my puppy be traumatized or scared while flying?
Most puppies will actually sleep during the flight. To a puppy, the flight is no more than a car ride. This is another reason that we make sure that our puppies are exposed to crates and cars at a very young age.
Won't my puppy be cramped in his crate while flying?
The airlines require that the puppy must be able to stand, sit, and lie down inside the crate without touching the sides. This is ample room for the puppy for the time the flight takes place.
What will happen if it is too cold to ship my new puppy?
The FFA has set regulations for temperatures and also the time that the puppy will be allowed to be in the crate. If the weather forecast is going to be too cold or too hot, the transport will not take place. The puppies are treated with priority and are never left to sit on the tarmac in the elements.
What if I am going to be buying 2 puppies?
If you are purchasing 2 puppies from us, you have the option of shipping them together. The airlines will allow 2 puppies of the same age to be shipped together in the same crate up until 6 months of age. The crate that the puppies will need will be larger so that will add to the shipping expense. It will, however, lower the cost to ship puppies together rather than seperately.
When do I pay for the shipping?
When we will be shipping a puppy, we require that the shipping expenses be sent to us no later than 2 weeks prior to the expected shipping date. This will give us ample time to arrange a flight that will be convenient for us and also for you.
